Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate in the ongoing Anambra State Governorship Election, has raised alarm over alleged vote buying in Nnewi South Local Government Area, while expressing optimism about his chances of re-election.
Soludo made the remarks after casting his vote at Polling Unit 002, Ofiyi Square, Umueze, Isuofia Ward 13, Aguata LGA. He claimed that a candidate from Nnewi South was offering ₦15,000 per voter, with reports of even higher inducements—up to ₦100,000—in other parts of the state.
Despite these concerns, Soludo described the election as “relatively peaceful” and said he was confident of winning across all 21 local government areas, provided the electoral process remains credible.
