Justice Ibrahim Ahmed Kala of the Federal High Court in Lagos has issued an interim forfeiture order on Proxy Lagos Night Club, a property owned by Lagos socialite Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike. The order was granted following an ex parte application filed by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The NDLEA alleged that the nightclub, located at No. 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, was used for drug storage and distribution. According to court documents, the agency discovered 169 cylinders containing 384.662 kilograms of nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, during a raid on the premises.
The application, marked FHC/L/MISC/1161/2025, also listed Joachim Hillary as a respondent alongside Pretty Mike. NDLEA counsel Buhari Abdullahi cited provisions of the NDLEA Act to support the forfeiture request, arguing that the property was instrumental in facilitating drug-related offenses.
The court granted the interim forfeiture to the Federal Government pending further investigation and possible final forfeiture proceedings. The NDLEA had previously raided the club during a suspected “drug party,” arresting over 100 attendees, including the club owner and manager.
This development adds to growing scrutiny of nightlife establishments in Lagos and raises broader concerns about drug abuse and enforcement in urban entertainment venues.
