Several members of the House of Representatives from Enugu State have formally switched allegiance from the Labour Party (LP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a significant shift in the political landscape of the South-East ahead of the 2027 elections.
A letter read on the floor of the House acknowledged the defections of at least two federal legislators:
Sunday Umeha, representing Udi/Ezeagu Federal Constituency, who cited internal divisions within the Labour Party and the desire to align with the “centre” for his constituents’ benefit. (The Guardian Nigeria)
