The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released 62% of the total results from the ongoing Anambra State governorship election, as collation continues across the remaining local government areas.

According to Channels Television (Nov. 8, 2025), the partial results uploaded on the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV) show a close contest between the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Labour Party (LP), while the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) trail behind in several zones.

The Punch reported that APGA currently leads in 10 out of 21 local government areas, with the Labour Party winning significant votes in urban centers such as Awka South and Onitsha North. The PDP, however, has shown better performance in Anambra West and Ogbaru LGAs.

The Guardian Nigeria highlighted that voter turnout stood at approximately 38%, slightly lower than the 2021 election. Electoral observers have praised INEC’s use of the BVAS and IReV systems for transparency but noted minor delays in result transmission from remote polling units.

Vanguard added that the final declaration of results is expected to take place later tonight at the Anambra INEC Collation Centre in Awka, where remaining LGAs are currently being verified and announced.
