A newly hired driver in Lagos has allegedly fled with his employer’s car just four days after resuming duty. The incident has sparked alarm, with the employer calling for public assistance in recovering the stolen vehicle.
Ogundele explained that he had requested a replacement driver from his company after his former driver fell ill. Jogbodo, who initially introduced himself as Adeleye, was assigned to him on November 18, 2025. On the same day, the suspect accompanied Ogundele on a business trip to Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, before returning with him to Lagos on November 20.
The following day, Jogbodo drove Ogundele to his office in Ikoyi as part of his regular duties. However, while Ogundele was in a meeting, the driver allegedly absconded with the car. According to Ogundele, Jogbodo told the office security personnel that he had been sent on an errand, but never returned.
The employer has since raised the alarm, appealing to the public and authorities to help track down the missing vehicle and apprehend the suspect. The case highlights growing concerns over trust and verification in domestic and corporate driver recruitment in Lagos.
