Gunmen abducted a medical doctor affiliated with NAUTH, Nnewi, in Uruagu, Nnewi North Local Government Area, while he was returning from work. The victim, identified as Dr. Onuigbo of the hospital’s Urology Department, was reportedly taken in front of his residence under unclear circumstances PM News Nigeria Vanguard News.
The incident occurred just days after Governor Charles Soludo launched the Agụnechemba security outfit, also known as Operation Udo Ga-Achị, aimed at curbing insecurity in the state Daily Trust.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, confirmed the abduction and stated that Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu has ordered a full-scale investigation. Tactical teams have been deployed to track the kidnappers and ensure the safe return of the doctor PM News Nigeria.
