The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has recorded a major breakthrough in its fight against drug trafficking with the arrest of two suspects and the confiscation of 1,046 kilograms of cannabis during a strategic operation in Edo State.
According to NDLEA officials, operatives stormed a suspected drug warehouse following credible intelligence, leading to the discovery of massive bags of compressed cannabis intended for distribution across neighboring states. The suspects were apprehended on-site while attempting to move the illicit substance.
NDLEA commanders in Edo described the seizure as a significant disruption to a major drug supply chain, noting that the syndicate has been under surveillance for weeks. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling drug networks and prosecuting all individuals involved in the trafficking, cultivation, or sale of illegal substances.
