The long-running terrorism trial of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu took a dramatic turn on November 20, 2025, when Justice James Omotosho directed operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) to eject him from the courtroom.
Courtroom Incident:
Kanu interrupted proceedings, insisting that judgment could not be delivered because he had not filed his final written address.
He raised his voice, accused the judge of bias, and declared that any ruling would be “rubbish.”
At one point, he shouted: “Which law states that you can charge me on an unwritten law? Show me. Omotosho, where is the law?” The Punch.

Justice Omotosho dismissed three fresh motions filed by Kanu as “unmeritorious.”
