Popular Nigerian actor and producer Timini Egbuson mourns and confirmed the passing of his father, Samuel Oyindobra Egbuson, in an Instagram post shared on Sunday, January 4, 2026. In the heartfelt message, Timini wrote, “Didn’t think I’ll start the year saying this … Rest in peace, Dad. So much left unsaid, but I’ll keep making you proud,” alongside photographs honouring his late father’s memory.
The death has also deeply affected his elder sister, award-winning Nollywood actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande, as both siblings come to terms with the loss of their beloved parent. Details surrounding the date and cause of his passing have not been publicly disclosed as the family focuses on grieving and remembrance.
Following the announcement, tributes and messages of condolence have poured in from across the Nigerian entertainment industry and social media. Timini made his acting debut in 2010 on ‘Tinsel’, an M-Net soap opera, but gained recognition for his role in the MTV series ‘Shuga’.
