In a show of solidarity, prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State have publicly backed Governor Seyi Makinde, emphasizing their commitment to party unity and development across the region.
At a strategic meeting held in Iseyin, leaders from the 10 Local Government Areas of the Oke Ogun Zone—including former and current officeholders—passed a vote of confidence in Makinde’s leadership. Deputy Governor Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal praised the governor’s developmental strides and called on party members to reciprocate his efforts in the upcoming 2027 general elections The Guardian Nigeria.
“The turnout at this meeting shows our unity and confidence in Governor Makinde’s leadership,” Lawal stated.
Despite recent defections, including that of Senator Ayoola Agboola, PDP leaders in the Oyo North Senatorial District insisted the party remains strong. In a communiqué issued after a separate meeting in Ibadan, they declared that the PDP’s structure and popularity remain intact Daily Post Nigeria.
