Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has finally shared her side of the story following a heated on-set dispute involving her, members of the production crew, and filmmaker Taye Arimoro. The controversy, which surfaced earlier this week, had stirred social media reactions and divided fans across the Nigerian entertainment industry.
In a statement posted on her verified Instagram page and confirmed by Pulse Nigeria, Ovire clarified that the misunderstanding stemmed from a scheduling and creative disagreement during the filming of a new project directed by Arimoro. She emphasized that the situation was “never as hostile or unprofessional” as some online reports suggested.
According to BellaNaija, Ovire stated: “I respect Taye Arimoro and the entire production team. What happened was a miscommunication about timing and creative direction, which has now been resolved. I remain fully committed to the project and to my craft.”
The Nation Entertainment reports that Taye Arimoro also addressed the incident in a separate interview, confirming that the misunderstanding had been amicably settled and that filming would continue as scheduled. He praised Ovire’s professionalism and urged the public to avoid sensationalizing routine industry challenges.
Vanguard Entertainment adds that several Nollywood colleagues have shown support for Ovire, commending her calm response and calling for unity within the creative community.
