Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has intensified political rhetoric ahead of the 2025 governorship election, mocking the APC’s chances and dismissing its influence in the state. In response, APC leaders have vowed to “retire” Soludo politically and reclaim control of the state.
During a recent rally, Soludo reportedly said the APC lacked grassroots support and was “a party of noise without substance.” This provocation has drawn sharp reactions from APC stalwarts.
Hon. Dozie Ikedife, Director-General of the Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and Senator Uche Ekwunife Campaign Organization, declared:
“We will retire Soludo and send him back to the classroom where he belongs.” — Independent Nigeria Independent.ng
Chief Basil Ejidike, APC State Chairman, echoed the sentiment at a rally in Oba, Idemili South, stating:
“Soludo never won the governorship election; he was installed by his predecessor. We will end his reign.” — Anambra Daily Anambra Daily
The APC has also gained momentum by poaching key figures from Soludo’s party, APGA, including Chief Ejike Madunagu, who recently defected to the APC.
Meanwhile, John Nwosu, ADC governorship candidate, criticized Soludo’s handling of insecurity and economic development, claiming:

As the November 8 election approaches, tensions are rising, with APC, LP, and ADC all positioning themselves as viable alternatives to Soludo’s administration.
