Samuel Ojeogwu, also known by his stage name Sammy West and brother to Nollywood star Regina Daniels, has been formally charged by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command in Abuja. The charges include criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying The Guardian Nigeria The Punch The Whistler.
According to a statement released by FCT Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh, the case originated from a petition received on October 28, 2025, implicating Ojeogwu and three others in a series of alleged offenses. Despite multiple invitations extended to him by the Metro Area Command for questioning, Ojeogwu reportedly failed to respond.
He was eventually arrested in Lagos under the authority of a court-issued warrant and transported to Abuja for further investigation. On November 6, 2025, he was arraigned before a court and subsequently remanded in custody pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions The Guardian Nigeria The Punch The Whistler.
The police emphasized that due process was followed throughout the arrest and arraignment. The case has drawn public attention due to Ojeogwu’s familial ties to Regina Daniels, who is married to Nigerian senator Ned Nwoko.
The FCT Police Command reiterated its commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice is served, regardless of social status or public profile.
