The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), as the winner of the Anambra State governorship election.
According to Channels Television (Nov. 9, 2025), Soludo secured victory with a decisive margin, polling over 112,000 votes, ahead of his closest rival from the Labour Party (LP), who garnered approximately 89,000 votes. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates trailed behind with 72,000 and 60,000 votes respectively.
The Punch reported that the final results were announced by Dr. Queen Agwu, INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in Awka, after concluding collation from all 21 local government areas of the state. Soludo’s re-election marks his second consecutive term as governor, reinforcing APGA’s dominance in Anambra politics.
Vanguard noted that the election was largely peaceful, though minor delays were recorded in result transmission from some rural polling units. INEC officials credited the improved performance of the BVAS and IReV systems for ensuring a transparent and credible process.
The Guardian Nigeria added that Soludo, in his victory speech, dedicated his win to “the resilient spirit of Anambra people,” promising to continue reforms in infrastructure, education, and youth empowerment.
