The management of Thompson Ayodele Federal University of Education (TAFSUED) has dismissed widespread rumours circulating on social media suggesting that the institution has been shut down due to security concerns. In an official statement released by the university’s Public Relations Unit, the school clarified that academic activities are ongoing without disruption, and there is no threat warranting a closure.

According to the statement, the false reports had caused anxiety among parents, students, and newly admitted candidates preparing for resumption. The university emphasised that security on campus remains stable, with routine patrols by internal security teams and strengthened collaboration with local law enforcement agencies.

TAFSUED urged students to disregard the misinformation and rely solely on official channels for updates.

“The university is calm, academic work continues smoothly, and no incident has occurred to justify any form of shutdown,” the management assured.

Students on campus also confirmed that lectures, registration, and departmental activities are proceeding normally.

The management further warned those spreading unverified claims to desist, stating that such actions could attract legal consequences for causing public unrest.
