President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has renewed his commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture as the nation continues to grapple with banditry, insurgency, and rising cases of kidnapping.
Tinubu made the remarks while honouring the late former Governor of Kogi State during a memorial event that drew political leaders, community stakeholders, and the governor’s family. Describing the late leader as “a resilient patriot whose contributions to national development will long endure,” Tinubu said his administration is determined to prevent further deterioration of security conditions.
According to the President, new security reforms—involving improved inter-agency cooperation, modern equipment deployment, and enhanced community-based intelligence—are being implemented to ensure a safer environment for Nigerians. He also urged citizens to remain vigilant and supportive of ongoing national efforts.
The memorial event highlighted the late governor’s achievements, including his focus on infrastructure and public welfare, which Tinubu described as examples of “leadership anchored in service and sacrifice.”
