A tragic accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway yesterday, leaving several people dead and many others injured in what authorities have described as a multiple-vehicle collision caused by speeding and loss of control.
According to The Punch (Nov. 9, 2025), the crash involved a commercial bus, two private cars, and a truck near the Kara Bridge section of the highway. Eyewitnesses reported that the bus driver attempted to overtake another vehicle before losing control, resulting in a pile-up that blocked traffic for several hours.
Channels Television quoted officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirming that at least seven people lost their lives, while over a dozen others sustained varying degrees of injury. Rescue teams from the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) and emergency services responded promptly, clearing the wreckage and restoring movement by evening.
Vanguard added that several victims were taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) in Sagamu for emergency treatment. Authorities have since urged motorists to exercise caution and obey traffic regulations, especially during the festive travel season.
