The Super Eagles of Nigeria delivered an emphatic performance on Wednesday night, defeating Gabon 4–1 to secure their place in the CAF Playoff final. The victory comes just days after the team resolved internal disputes over unpaid allowances, restoring calm and unity within the squad.

According to CAF Online, Nigeria dominated the match from start to finish, showcasing sharp attacking football and improved midfield coordination. Goals from Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, and Samuel Chukwueze sealed the win, with Gabon managing a consolation goal late in the second half.

BBC Sport Africa reports that Osimhen opened the scoring with a powerful strike in the 17th minute, setting the tone for Nigeria’s commanding display. Lookman and Iwobi extended the lead before halftime, while Chukwueze capped off the performance with a clinical finish in the 78th minute.

Coach Finidi George, speaking to SuperSport, praised the team’s mental strength and discipline: “The boys showed character and focus. We’ve moved past the off-field issues and are fully concentrated on qualifying.”

The Nation Sports confirms that Nigeria will face the winner of the Senegal–Mali semifinal in the CAF Playoff final scheduled for next week.
