Nigeria Afrobeats superstar Ayodeji "Wizkid" Balogun has been inducted as an honorary member of the Lagos Motor Boat Club following a New Year's Eve performance at the waterfront venue, receiving a certificate and club hat from the Commodore, marking his induction into the exclusive Lagos social institution.
The induction took place at the club's New Year's Eve gala, where Wizkid's performance preceded the formal presentation of honorary membership materials by club leadership.
The Lagos Motor Boat Club, a historic institution founded in 1950 that hosts affluent boat enthusiasts, business leaders and traditional figures, welcomed Wizkid alongside notable personalities such as Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi and Ogiame Atuwatse, the Olu of Warri, underscoring the singer’s growing influence in both entertainment and elite social circles.
In footage shared across platforms including Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), Wizkid was seen accepting the honour with club officials and supporters in attendance, a gesture widely interpreted as recognition of his contribution to the cultural and entertainment landscape in Lagos.
